Jan 2026 Newsletter

Happy New Year!

Spring Semester

Our Spring Semester begins February 2, 2026.

For current students, fall classes will roll into spring classes automatically. If you wish to make any changes to your schedule, please let us know by January 19.

If your dancer wants to perform in our Spring Performance, make sure to sign them up for the repertoire class for their level!

Adult Jazz – Thursday Nights

Try Adult Jazz on Thursdays from 7-8 pm!

Adult Jazz is taught by Melissa Coutts and offers a fun, energetic approach to jazz dance. You will explore stylized steps, musicality, and technique in a welcoming inclusive environment which consists of a warm up, stretching and isolations, across the floor, and choreography.

This open level class is designed for adults 16+ of all experience levels with instruction tailored to the abilities of the dancers in the room.

Adult classes are drop-in only, but we ask that you reserve your spot in advance.

The Nutcracker

Our dancers performed The Nutcracker beautifully. We are so proud of them and grateful for our remarkable faculty! Thank you for joining us during the magical season!

Spring Performance

SAVE THE DATE!

Location: Juanita Performing Arts Center

Date: Saturday, June 6th and Sunday, June 7th

We’re so excited about the ballet we’ve selected for our Spring Performance, but we’re not ready to reveal it quite yet!

Hint: It’s based on a children’s book full of characters with big personalities.

OUTREACH

Nutcracker Community Performances

We loved spreading holiday cheer outside of the theatre during the Nutcracker season! A special thank you to our dancers who add more rehearsals and braved the cold weather!

Thank you to 4Culture and the City of Bellevue for grants that make community shows possible!

Stories in Motion

Stories in Motion is a BelArts Ballet outreach program that increases access to the arts by bringing dancers directly into schools and community spaces. The program supports equitable arts education and strengthens connections between BelArts Ballet and the communities we serves by removing logistical and financial barriers to experiencing live performances. This spring we will be performing excerpts from our Spring Performance as part of Stories in Motion.

We are able to provide Stories in Motion thanks to generous grants from 4Culture, the City of Bellevue, and ArtsFund.

If you are connected with an elementary school that might be interested in a Stories in Motion Assembly, please contact us.

Become a BelArts Donor

BelArts Ballet believes art should be accessible to all.

We are passionate about increasing opportunities for inclusive dance training, and enriching our community with high-quality performances and outreach events on the Eastside and beyond.

Since tuition and ticket sales alone don’t cover our programming costs, donations are crucial for our non-profit organization.

BelArts Ballet is a trade name of Emerald Ballet Theatre, a registered 501(c)(3). Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
